set up her first specialist rehabilitation centre for horses
She has always been fascinated by the ability of the equine
athlete for years and pioneered the transference of physiotheraputic
methods from humans
to the equine athlete.
her daughters Penny and Rabbit she runs a small rehabilitation
business, concentrating their efforts on imparting their knowledge
and information to those
willing to gain a greater insight into the importance of massage,
stretching and specific controlled exercises for horses.
Mary is at present working with National Hunt and Flat Trainers
including David Pipe and Phillip Hobbs
Penny Slattery - A
rider trained by the late Colonel Bill Froud. Penny has worked
with Mary since the conception of the first rehabilitation
centre in 1984. She devises and undertakes all the exercise
routines and she is a qualified equine masseur.
Jennifer (Rabbit) Slattery - Rabbit
holds a degree in Sports Science and Sports Therapy. As well
as being Chief Therapist to the British Racing Industry she
runs a private practice dealing with injuries from a multitude
of sports at all levels
