are very fortunate to still have many local services that have long
since disappeared from other rural areas.
These include our school, church, post office with convenience store
and petrol pumps, pub, playing field, public conveniences and a very
good bus service.

Our
local pub is The Rest and Be Thankful Inn.
This
used to be an old coaching inn but now specialises in quality
accommodation and excellent home cooking with Sunday Carvery.
The pub is a popular venue for local skittles, darts and quiz
nights and has facilities for children and the recreation field
with its play area close by.

Moorland Hall |
The
Moorland
Hall
was built in 1934 and plays an important part in our village
life. Many of the local clubs hold their meeting and fundraising
events. These include W.I., Friendship Club, Young Farmers,
Art Classes, Short mat Bowls, Youth Club, Play Group, Mother
& Toddler Group, Parish Council. Please visit our Clubs
