THE PARISH PRECEPT
Dear Cutcombe & Wheddon Cross Residents,
Probably the most important decision that a Parish Council must make during the year, and the one that affects the most people, is to set its budget and precept for the coming year. The budget for the financial year 2025/26 was agreed at an Extra-ordinary Council meeting held on 21st January and is now published on the website. We are pleased to report that for the fourth consecutive financial year residents will not see an increase to the amount they contribute to the precept as the council has managed to keep the precept the same. This is largely due to the council being very fortunate to have income that comes in from renting out a business unit attached to the public toilet block and income from the Snowdrop Valley event, all of which help to keep the precept down. Cutcombe Parish Council gives enormous thanks to all the volunteers that give up their time to help with the Snowdrop Valley Event as without them it would not be able to go ahead.
The money from Snowdrop Valley is also used to provide grants and donations to support local initiatives. During 2024/25 so far, we have provided the following donations: –
£400 donation towards the upkeep of the burial ground.
£75 donation to purchase 100 “message in a bottle” for vulnerable people.
£100 donation to Cutcombe School to purchase Snowdrop bulbs.
£250 donation to Citizens Advice West Somerset.
We would like to encourage organisations and community groups to apply for grants if they felt this would help them. The grant application form and policy can be found by clicking on the links below:

The Parish Council is focused on delivering what is important to the community.
Thank you for your support.
